August 26, 2022 – Toronto, Ontario – Newt Corporation (“Newt” or the “Company”), an integrated platform for digital financial services, is pleased to announce the signing of a partnership with Smart City Soft for its digital payment kiosk network in Mexico, partnering with an established government provider of digital services and operator of kiosks in Mexico.
Smart City Soft is a private company with over 25 years of experience in providing governments with consulting and technology solutions for digital governance and e-governments in Mexico and Latin America. With its successful experience, including an embedded technology holding 10 technology patents, Smart City Soft has supported a number of states and 43 municipalities in Mexico with solid successful operations.
Smart City Soft is the only e-government software company in Mexico working under a performance-based contract with governments, municipalities, and state and federal institutions, for expediting government contracts through an alternative service model to the traditional sales and procurement model. The company provides quick access to servicing governments with expedited service contracts.
Under the terms of the agreement, Newt’s subsidiary, Newt Kiosks, will provide digital payment kiosk hardware and software directly to Smart City Soft to maintain and expand in government facilities with a focus on increasing revenue and expanding Newt Solutions directly with government entities, for payment collections and focusing on placing centrally located kiosks within municipal and state governments, as well as exploring other significant commercial opportunities.
The agreement stipulates that Smart City Soft will operate, provide cash management, expand government collection services on Newt’s existing kiosks, and prepare future infrastructure for digital currency and other revenue opportunities emerging in the market.
