June 24, 2021 – Toronto, Ontario – Newt Corporation (“Newt” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the signing of the contract for initial distribution of 10,000 PASE electronic toll road tags at Farmacias Guadalajara’s 2,400 retail outlets nationwide.
Within the last year, Farmacias Guadalajara has been successfully utilizing Newt’s SaaS Platform for digital services, using the software for enrollment of new customer accounts, allowing customers to make utility and bill payments, purchasing of expanded product lines of gift cards in their stores, and accessing Newt’s portfolio of digital SaaS services and catalogue of products.
The distribution of tags will start from Farmacias Guadalajara’s three distribution centers in Mexico: Western, in Tlaquepaque Jalisco, for 5,000 pieces, Northeastern near Monterrey, for 3,000 pieces, and central, in Hidalgo, near Mexico City, for 2,000 pieces.
The addition of physical distribution represents an entirely new stage for Newt Corporation, breaking ground into the realm of physical operations, expanding Newt’s offering from digital software products and services to physical device products.
Farmacias Guadalajara is a Mexican drugstore chain that was founded in 1942 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. In 1962 it began an expansion program, and currently has more than 2,400 drugstores in 19 States of Mexico. Farmacias Guadalajara opened a new distribution center with high tech in Monterrey, which provides merchandise to the whole chain. Farmacias Guadalajara headquarters are located in downtown Guadalajara City, and they have three distribution centers around the country.
